ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Judi Keyani is a native of Minnesota, but has lived in California since 1963. Her interest and study of art as an avocation grew throughout college and during her professional study and practice in the field of Nursing. since 1994 she has devoted her time more completely to artwork and has completed numerous formal courses in a variety of media. Keyani attends workshops regularly, including annual trips to France or Italy to paint.
Keyani works primarily in pastels and oils; her subjects include landscapes, figures, and still lifes, chosen for their inherent beauty and structural interest. She bases her compositions on shape relationships and the descriptive quality of line, using color for its rich, exciting dimension. Keyani is a member of Gallery 9 in Los Altos. Her work is represented in collections in California, Florida, Minnesota, and Tennessee; Australia, Germany, and Norway
